The Climate Action Monitor 2025 prepared by OECD is out!
The new report tracks progress on net-zero across 52 countries – and the message is urgent:
– Current 2030 NDC targets fall short of Paris goals,
– Climate policy momentum has slowed since 2021,
– 2024 saw record heatwaves, floods & droughts,
– Emissions are 8% above needed levels.
- 63% emissions reduction needed by 2035 to stay on a 1.5°C path
Yet climate policy expansion was just 1% in 2024.
This is a wake-up call:
Stronger, binding and internationally coordinated climate action is essential.
