“Nature in the Red” — Time to Power the Trillion-Dollar Nature Transition Economy
For every dollar invested in protecting nature, US$30 are spent destroying it. In 2023, US$7.3 trillion went to nature-negative flows, while only US$220 billion supported Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
To meet global targets by 2030, annual NbS investment must reach US$571 billion — just 0.5% of global GDP.
The report introduces the Nature Transition X-Curve, a practical tool to phase out destructive subsidies and scale up nature-positive finance across all sectors.
