UNDP’s Climate Justice: A Youth Guide to Legal Responsibility, Policy Action and Accountability is now out!

Climate justice is increasingly recognized not only as an environmental issue, but also as a matter of rights, equity, and accountability. Yet young people, who are disproportionately affected by climate change, still face major structural barriers to influencing decision-making and accessing remedies for climate-related harm.

This Guide responds to that gap by bringing together legal empowerment, policy engagement, and accountability pathways to strengthen youth climate advocacy. At its core, the Climate Justice Pathway helps young people identify climate-related harms, connect them to relevant rights and obligations, and navigate routes for action from local to global levels.

Developed through consultations with more than 600 young people across 100+ countries, the Guide aims to support stronger youth agency and more enforceable, equitable climate action.
