{"id":11110,"date":"2025-02-17T13:40:11","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T13:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.etkiyap.org\/?p=11110"},"modified":"2025-05-02T15:31:53","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T15:31:53","slug":"as-part-of-our-project-empowering-disabled-women-and-girls-through-sports-and-livelihood-opportunities-we-successfully-organised-the-overcoming-barriers-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.etkiyap.org\/en\/as-part-of-our-project-empowering-disabled-women-and-girls-through-sports-and-livelihood-opportunities-we-successfully-organised-the-overcoming-barriers-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"As part of our project \u201cEmpowering Disabled Women and Girls through Sports and Livelihood Opportunities\u201d, we successfully organised the Overcoming Barriers Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\"><\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> &lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\"><\/span><\/span><p>As part of our project \u201cEmpowering Disabled Women and Girls through Sports and Livelihood Opportunities,\u201d we successfully organised the Overcoming Barriers Workshop in collaboration with Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality (GBB) and the GBB Engelsiz Ya\u015fam Merkezi.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe workshop, which began with opening speeches, brought together 77 participants, primarily academics.<\/p>\n<p>\nSix thematic committees were formed to address key issues:<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8211; Challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their families<br \/>\n&#8211; Social, cultural, employment, and sports opportunities for women with disabilities<br \/>\n&#8211; Education, rehabilitation, and support mechanisms for children with disabilities<br \/>\n&#8211; Social security, in-kind, and financial assistance for people with disabilities<br \/>\n&#8211; Accessibility and support services provided by local governments<br \/>\n&#8211; Medical reports and healthcare services related to disabilities<\/p>\n<p>\nThe workshop concluded with the presentation of key outcomes by the committees, followed by a closing speech from Fatma \u015eahin, Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.
